Donald Polk, president of Maxion Wheels, Americas, says the addition positions Maxion as a one-stop shop for commercial vehicle customers’ wheel needs.

Polk says Maxion’s new line features four wheels carefully selected by the company to best serve the needs of the North American marketplace. The wheel sizes are 22.5 x 8.25 in., 24.5 x 8.25 in., 17.5 x 6.75 in., and 22.5 x 14 in.. Maxion says the 22.5 x 8.25 in. wheel—the industry’s most popular size—weighs in at 45 lbs., a weight that is comparable to other aluminum wheels available in the market today.

Maxion Director of North American Sales Matt Kominars says the aluminum wheel line also puts Maxion in position to adapt to changes in the North American wheel market, where aluminum continues to gain interest and popularity due to its weight advantages. Maxion’s 22.5 x 8.25 steel wheel options are 66 and 68 lbs., respectively.

“People are looking to lightweight their equipment,” he says.

Compatible and interchangeable with current market offerings, Maxion says its aluminum wheel line up was designed to exceed recognized industry standards with respect to: material, rim contour, radial and rotary fatigue, mounting configuration, and FMVSS 571.120 markings.

Customers operating in North America will be able to purchase the new wheels through aftermarket channels beginning in the spring with the initial rollout of the 22.5 x 8.25 in. A standard five-year limited warranty is also is included, the company says.

“Our forged aluminum truck wheels are built for today’s toughest road conditions. They are designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with Maxion Wheels’ highest product quality specifications,” says Polk. “Maxion Wheels’ commercial vehicle wheel product strategies will continue to focus on minimizing corrosion, reducing weight, and offering more styling alternatives, as a continued commitment to our customers to push the boundaries of innovation as the industry leader.”
