Old River open house

Old River of New Orleans recently held an open house and sales blitz for current and prospective customers in the area.

The sales blitz, held May 16, entailed seven teams consisting of Old River employees and OEM and vendor representatives. The teams provided companies with information as well as learned more about the companies they visited.

“The teams met with every possible person or company with a truck,” says Chuck Rothwell, general manager, Old River of New Orleans. “We hit around 150 customers in one day with those seven teams.

“Being that we just purchased the Volvo addition, it was imperative that Old River let the entire area know that we now have the ability to service Volvo, Mack and Hino for parts, service and sales,” Rothwell says. “The customers responded very well to Old River on the blitz and the open house. I believe they are as excited as Old River is about the progress that this location has made. With all the vendor and OEM support, our customers can see that Old River of New Orleans is alive and here to support all their needs for the future.”

The dealership’s open house, held May 17, included lunch and booths from vendors such as Travis Trailers, DuraClass, Donaldson, Seats Inc., STEMCO, Dynex, Exide and Horton.

“The sales blitz and open house provided a great opportunity to welcome our new Volvo customers and allow them to see our daily operations. It was great to meet some new customers and have the current customers there and be able to talk together about the needs and expectations of our dealership in regard to their individual business needs. We look forward to making these new customers feel as welcome as our current ones,” says Clarissa Philip, Old River of New Orleans, service manager.

Jason Cornish, Old River of New Orleans parts manager, says, “Because this one was paired with our open house, our sales blitz was even more successful than those we have held in the past. Not only were our teams able to contact a large number of potential customers in a short period of time, but those potential customers then had the opportunity to visit the dealership the next day. This allowed them to meet Old River employees, our vendors and see firsthand our day-to-day operations.”
