Betts Truck Parts & Service has appointed Lars Nissen and Jake Homstad as new product managers to provide expertise to its customers in the areas of brake/wheel end and engine/electrical products.

“We are pleased to welcome Lars and Jake as our new product experts,” says John Devany, sales manager, Betts Truck Parts & Service. “In addition to helping customers and training employees, our product managers provide important roles in managing inventory and strengthening our vendor relationships.”

Nissen, former branch manager of Betts Truck Parts & Service in Manteca, Calif., has been promoted to the newly created position of brake/wheel end product manager. Nissen joined Betts in 2010. He is responsible for brake shoes, drums and hubs, wheel end and air brakes, wheel seals and axle hardware, brake foundation and air brakes. Nissen works with Betts’ suppliers, including Meritor, Webb Wheel, Stemco, Bendix, Timken, SKF, Federal Mogul and Phillips. Nissen will support his role through the Manteca branch.

Homstad, the new engine/electrical product manager, joins Betts Truck Parts & Service from Dorman HD Solutions, where he was regional sales manager. Homstad also will work with Betts’ suppliers, including Baldwin Filters, Deka Batteries, Delco Remy, Kinedyne, Kit Masters, Holland, Grote, Fontaine International, MEI Airsource, Radiator Specialty (RSC), and Walker Exhaust. His product category expertise includes starting and charging systems, chemicals, engine management,  fifth wheels/cargo control and lighting and electrical accessories. Homstad will be based out of the Betts Truck Parts & Service location in Phoenix. In addition to his role as a product manager, he will provide sales management support to the Phoenix branch, the company says.

Nissen and Homstad are available to support all eight Betts Truck Parts & Service locations in Arizona, California, and Oregon. They are responsible for helping customers with training in the field and with telephone technical support. They will also provide extensive training to Betts Truck Parts & Service sales and service teams, extending local expertise throughout the branch network, the company says.

Shawn Mahoney continues as the company’s product manager for drivetrain products, including transmissions, differentials, clutches or related components. All three product managers are supported by Don Devany, senior vice president, Betts Company and John Devany, sales manager, Betts Truck Parts & Service.
