The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Blue Bird Body Company is recalling certain 2019-2024 Vision and All American school buses. The emergency exit label operating instructions lettering is too small and may be difficult to read. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release." An emergency exit label that is difficult to read can prevent or delay the use of the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury. NHTSA says 28,479 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Blue Bird Body Company is recalling certain 2020-2024 All American and 2021-2024 Vision transit buses. The emergency exit label operating instructions lettering is too small and may be difficult to read. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release." An emergency exit label that is difficult to read can prevent or delay the use of the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury. NHTSA says 400 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Chrysler is recalling certain 2020-2023 Ram 1500 Classic vehicles equipped with heated trailer tow rearview mirrors. The mirror glass may detach from the driver's side heated trailer tow rearview mirror. As such these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 111, "Rear Visibility." Detached mirror glass can reduce driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 31,676 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- E-One Incorporated is recalling certain 2020-2024 Cyclone 2, Typhoon N, 2021- 2024 Cyclone N, and 2021 Quest 2 vehicles. The engine crossmember may break, allowing the cooling fan to contact the fan shroud and become damaged. A damaged cooling fan can result in an engine stall while driving and increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 282 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- General Motors is recalling certain 2024 GMC Sierra EV vehicles. The front turn signal lights and parking lights may be too similar in brightness, making it difficult to see the front turn signals when they are activated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Front turn signals that are difficult to see may not clearly indicate the driver's intentions to other road users, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 1,962 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- General Motors is recalling certain 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2018-2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, 3500, and GMC Sierra 2500, 3500 Crew Cab trucks. The left or right-side roof-rail air bag (RRAB) inflator end cap may detach from the inflator or the inflator sidewall may rupture. A separated inflator end cap or inflator rupture can allow compressed gas to escape, resulting in the end cap or other components being propelled into the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or crash. NHTSA says 2,061 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Jayco is recalling certain 2025 Jay Feather Air travel trailers. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) listed on the vehicle certification label is incorrect, which can allow the vehicle to be overloaded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification." An overloaded vehicle can increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 2,066 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Jayco is recalling certain 2021-2025 Entegra Ethos, Ethos LI, Jayco Swift and Swift LI vehicles. The Tire and Loading Information Label incorrectly lists the tire load range. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of FMVSS number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims." Incorrect tire and load range information could cause owners to select underrated replacement tires, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 49 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing is recalling certain 2010-2024 Rear Loader vehicles. The license plate light was installed in the wrong location and may not fully illuminate the license plate. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." An improperly illuminated license plate reduces the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 431 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Multiquip is recalling certain 2010-2016 TRLR-55348, 2012-2015 TRLR-55164, and 2013 TRLR-57615 trailers. The frame welds may crack or break, reducing the trailer's stability while being towed. Instability can cause a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 92 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Navistar is recalling certain 2024-2025 IC Bus EVSB and 2024-2025 CESB school buses. The brake caliper mounting bolts may not have been properly tightened, allowing the brake caliper to detach from the anchor plate. A detached brake caliper can cause a loss of braking ability, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 1,216 units are potentially affected by the recall.
