The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Chrysler is recalling certain 2025 Ram 1500 pickup trucks. Incorrect headlight module software may cause the headlights to become inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Inoperative headlights can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 53 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Freightliner Business Class M2 emergency vehicles equipped with certain Cummins diesel engines. The engine protection and inducement software may cause the engine to shut down unexpectedly. An unexpected engine shutdown can delay emergency responders and increase the risk of injury. NHTSA says 139 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Daimler Vans USA is recalling certain 2019-2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles. The instrument cluster illumination may not be adjustable and appear too bright in certain lighting conditions. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays." A display that is too bright can make it difficult for the driver to see critical safety information, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 697 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Forest River is recalling certain 2025 RPOD RPT197 and RPT205 travel trailers. The propane tank tray may be missing the required number of fasteners, allowing the tanks to detach. A detached tank can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 116 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Great Dane Trailers is recalling certain 2025 Champion Dry Freight trailers. Missing kingpin welds may prevent the upper coupler from securely connecting the trailer. An insecure connect may allow the trailer to detach from the tow vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 225 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America is recalling certain 2024 FEC7K and FEC9K RIZON trucks. Excessive current may damage the circuit and cause the vehicle control unit to malfunction, resulting in a loss of drive power. A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 243 units are potentially affected by the recall.
