The following safety recalls were issued Monday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):
- Altec Industries is recalling certain 2020 TA Series, 2019 L Series Aerial Device, 2018-2025 Service Body, LS Series, and AT Series trucks. The Power Distribution Module (PDM 10) circuit may experience a voltage spike, which can damage the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) and disrupt chassis functions, including the PTO switch, rearview mirror or rearview camera. A damaged TCCM and disrupted chassis functions can result in a loss of handling and control or brake performance, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 965 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Forest River is recalling certain 2025-2026 Wildwood and Salem travel trailer recreational trailers. The exterior transit latch on the rear patio door cannot be unlocked from inside the vehicle. A door that remains locked can prevent or delay occupants from evacuating during an emergency, increasing the risk of injury. NHTSA says 126 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Forest River is recalling certain 2026 Sabre fifth wheel recreational trailers. The exterior griddle may have been incorrectly installed, allowing the griddle to be stowed while still connected to the LPG. Stowing the griddle while connected to the LPG increases the risk of a fire. NHTSA says 78 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Forest River is recalling certain 2026 Spirit travel trailers. The installed safety chains may not meet the actual Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) listed on the Federal Placard. This can cause the chains to fail, allowing the trailer to separate from the tow vehicle. Separation of the trailer and tow vehicle increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 12 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- General Motors is recalling certain 2019-2024 Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD vehicles. The brake pressure sensor assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch and cause a short circuit. An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked. NHTSA says 62,468 units are potentially affected by the recall and has issued a "Fire Risk Warning" warning for those units.
- International Motors is recalling certain 2019-2025 CV vehicles. The brake pressure sensor assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch and cause a short circuit. An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked. NHTSA says 6,814 units are potentially affected by the recall and has issued a "Fire Risk Warning" warning for those units.
- Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2024-2026 Mack MD vehicles. When the Controller Area Network (CAN) communications are interrupted, the throttle signal from the electro mobility control unit may retain the last known throttle setting, and the engine will not return to idle as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 124, "Accelerator Control Systems." An engine that does not return to idle quickly enough can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 148 units are potentially affected by the recall.
- Newmar Corporation is recalling certain 2023-2024 London Aire, Essex, and 2016-2024 King Aire motorhomes. The baggage door skins may come loose and separate from the door frame. A detached door skin can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA says 541 units are potentially affected by the recall.
