Who’s in the news: Our weekly trucking employment report

The following employment announcements were made in the trucking industry the week of Jan. 18, 2026: 

  • Continental Battery Systems named Mike Harris as its new CEO, succeeding Chris Alberta, who will become the executive chairman of the board.
  • Karmak named Marv Moreno vice president of marketing and sales.
  • Karmak CEO Jim Allen, Michael Yates of Truck Centers Inc., and Mike Benker of Benner Fire Equipment were named to the St. Louis Titan 100 list.
  • The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence announced its officers and board members for 2026. They include: John Wolf, Snap-on Business solutions president, as chairman of the board; Tom Palermo, general manager of Preferred Automotive Specialists as vice chair; John Hanighen, president and CEO of Cloyes Manufacturing, treasurer; Gary Uyematsu, national technical training manager at BMW North America, secretary; Jason Rainey, vice president of NAPA AutoCare/AAA is past chair. There are also six new governors: Aaron Charbonneau, General Motors; Chris Charton, Toyota; Brent Franks, North Texas Automotive Dealers Association; Mike McSorley, Goodyear; Gerry Mead, TravelCenters of America; and Jake Sorenson, McNeil's AUto Repair.
