Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. has released four new videos in the Tires 101 section of its website as part of National Tire Safety Week, which will be May 29 through June 4.
The videos can be found at toyotires.com/tires-101.
These videos address four essential topics: how to check your tire pressure, how to check tire tread depth, how to inspect tire wear and how to read your tire sidewall.
National Tire Safety Week is presented by the Rubber Manufacturer’s Association (RMA) and supported by industry partners. It is designed to educate motorists about the importance of tire safety and maintenance.
According to the RMA, only 17-percent of drivers properly check their tire pressure. As a result of those numbers, underinflated tires can waste up to 1.2 billion gallons of fuel annually. And most important, underinflated tires contribute to numerous fatalities and injuries each year.
“Your tires are one of your key assets for the safe enjoyment of your vehicle, especially during the holiday travel season,” says Amy Coleman, senior director of marketing, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp.
“With the summer months soon approaching, it is wise to check your tires with the help of our new videos or stop by your local tire dealer for a safety check.”
