A 50-year veteran of the commercial vehicle market, Phillips was honored for his impressive career at his fourth-generation family company.

The award was presented by IHS Automotive during the opening general session of Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) Tuesday in Las Vegas.

“I want to thank you all, my friends, and thank the trucking industry for this,” says Phillips.

During his career, Phillips has grown Phillips Industries into a worldwide commercial vehicle manufacturer. The company now sells products in more than 40 countries, Phillips says, and constantly strives to build innovative products to improve the commercial vehicle marketplace.

He’s also worked to set his business up to continue its growth in the future by building a succession plan for his sons. Rob Phillips is now the president at Phillips Industries and Dave is the executive vice president.

“Today we’re a family business and tomorrow we’ll be a family business,” says Bob Phillips. “That’s something we’re proud of.”
