Vehicle Service Group showcased an innovative new augmented reality product display tool this week at the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) and American Truck Dealers (ATD) 2018 Show this weekend in Las Vegas.

Vehicle Service Group, maker of Rotary-Lift heavy-duty lifts, says its new augmented reality tool will allow sales associates and customers the ability to view interactive, three-dimensional simulations of its entire product line from anywhere.

Built to work with Apple and Android mobile devices, the augmented reality tool works by capturing an image of a Vehicle Service Group product from a specialty product brochure, and then developing a three-dimensional version of that product to be seen on the mobile device as a 3D rendering above the printed document. Sales associates and customers can then maneuver around the product within the app, viewing how it works from multiple angles as well as viewing 3D cross sections of the products, and how they function when in use.

“We are trying to bring more of connection to the product when [with customers] instead of just handing someone a brochure,”says David Fischmer, director of marketing for Vehicle Service Group. “It’s something we can use to give customers a little bit more information and go a little bit more in depth.”

In use now, Fischmer says the tool will be on display at other future trade shows and will become a mainstay for VSG employees when in the field, since it requires only the mobile app and product brochure to use.
